GARBAGE CAN ART

Magic City Blues at South Park
August 13 & 14, 2011
Four hours of creative madness!

Twelve Billings area artists will paint, twist, cut, glue, weld and build their creations
out of 20 gallon galvanized garbage cans during “Magic City Blues at South Park”.
Six works will be created each day during the festival from 11am-3pm both Saturday,
August 13 and Sunday, August 14 in full public view. Finished works will be sold through
silent auction the day they are created. Full proceeds from the auction go to the
South Side Task force to aid their efforts in rebuilding the Gazebo in South Park.

Artists provide their time, their art supplies and their great ideas.
6 artists will work on Saturday, August 13.
6 artists will work on Sunday, August 14.

  • Garbage can needs to be functional when completed
  • Advance preparation is allowed but final assembly must occur
    during the allotted 4 hours
  • Festival provides the 20 gallon galvanized cans
  • Artists provide supplies and time
  • Festival provides power and water
  • One “Best Deal” ticket (which gives entry to our 2 day shows and 2 night shows, $89 value) goes to each participating artist
  • Art must be complete by 3pm
  • Silent auction bidding closes at 4:30pm
  • Photos of each finished work will be posted to www.magiccityBlues.com
